A Cry For Constitutional Justice
The day before yesterday, I went
on the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal newspaper in Lubbock, Texas, where I signed up
for lubbockonline.com with the moniker UnfetteredFury,
after my original moniker largordo had
been blocked (See Screenshot # 4), most probably
because on Dr. Carr’s blog I said I hoped the moderator/censor’s hemorrhoids
had hemorrhoids. I will never know for sure why the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal
blocked my moniker, since I never received an e-mail from whomever at that
newspaper to justify this brash action. (The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal is owned
by the Morrison Communication Company, as I understand it.)
When I complained to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal
on their Facebook page, I said they had infringed on my first amendment rights,
and that the right was not theirs to trump. The newspaper said it did have that
right and that most sites did this. (See Screenshots #
1 and # 2)
I would think that rights
guaranteed me by the United States Constitution cannot be trumped by a
newspaper or any other organization such as a corporation or a club. Even
signing a contract to be a member of something, and the irony and gall of it of
it all, a paying member, still does
not trump my rights, since any document that
requires that I relinquish those rights could only be considered velvet
coercion, but coercion nonetheless. When signing up for an account, it states
that comments use is a privilege and not
a right. (See Screenshot # 3). The bottom
line is that free speech, no matter how much one might disagree with it, is a guaranteed right not to be revoked by
anyone or anything.—and if this newspaper does have the right, God forbid, then the American people must stand up to have
it repealed. This is a major right infringed upon in a major way with endless
implications. Your Congressmen and Congresswomen must be called about this, and
these representatives and senators in Congress must be held accountable for
getting this repealed, if, in fact, this is the law.
Personally, I suspect my legal
sense is right and corporations, clubs, newspapers
with online blogs do not have the right to trump anyone’s right of free
speech, or any other right guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States.
I have a gut feeling this has been the big bluff of at least a century in this
country.
Anyway, under the moniker UnfetteredFury I had not made more than
three comments on Dr. Carr’s blog, which also included one comment on the Mr.
Conservative blog, when WHAM! lubbockonline had blocked UnfetteredFury, as well. (See Screenshot #
5). Please note the three comments I had posted. Very vanilla comments
with one to a blogger who is too conservative for my taste, telling him his
argument was a broken record. (See Screenshots # 6, 7
and 8).
What I would like you, as people who want to defend your Constitutional rights, to do is go to the Avalanche-Journal page on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Avalanche-Journal/95690719813 and leave them a message. Tell them what you think of first amendment rights. Let them know it if you think they have overstepped their authority, and demand my moniker of UnfetteredFury be unblocked. Let them know that We, the People of the United States of America will not tolerate this travesty. Make a screenshot of your message to them. (With the picture on your computer screen, click the Print/Screen button. Open the Paint application on your PC and click paste in the upper left hand corner. Save as jpeg with a name to your computer, to any file of your liking on your computer.) Thank you. Your participation will be heart-felt.
