The beat, beat, beat of the heart pounding within your chest to the heavy-handed invisible grasp at your throat squeezing tighter and tighter as you choke. A horrifying murder scene? Hardly. That’s for amateurs. Welcome to the Teasdale Intensive Business School where insidious administrative actions rule the day…and night…and every living moment in your work and leisure. Beat, beat, beat.



After surviving a lethal dose of chemotherapy, Jack Defiant leaves teaching to work as a travel agent for rich and power clients whose playground is the world. When he has an irate caller on the line, he dupes his team leader into taking the call. The company takes a financial hit, and the team leader loses her bonuses and perks for the year. Little does Jack Defiant know that his team leader belongs to a group within the workplace that believes in the postulates of Sun Tzu's "The Art of War," not to mention greed, power, and lust. Defiant's team leader vows to get him fired.



Life is a trip. The secret to a successful journey is how well you endure the potholes in the road without getting too maimed or losing your soul in the process.


As Satchel makes his way through the world and his new life, his past influences his present, and his present influences his future. The obstacles thrown across his pass and the choices he makes will decide how far he advances during his journey.
